I also have guardianship of a cat. The cat was a wild kitten we found living under the Hotel and I started feeding himin the hope that he would stick around and control the autumn mouse invasion. That plan has been semi successful - the cat has stuck around, comes when he is called, rubs against my legs and has recently discovered the joy of sleeping on my bed. The failure of my plan? I've bought quite a bit of mouse bait this year!
Two goats, one cat. Quite enough animals I thought, but then another cat showed up. This cat is not wild; although she has been living rough she is incredibly friendly and likes nothing better than jumping on a nice warm lap for a pat. I don't want two cats so I am hoping to find a new home for her. But the little cat has other ideas, she wants to stay and is encouraging her friends to come for the party too. Last night she showed how serious she was about this, sharing her tea with a local hedgehog who was quite enjoying the feast. I have a funny feeling that I haven't seen the last of this hedgehog and I wonder who or what will show up next!
