Where ever I look there is something new to see and it is always inspiring. Some of the scenery needs to be planned and accessed, like Hokitika Gorge - (a little drive and a 15 minute walk on a cold and almost rainy day) but even the small things like a bellbird out side my window or a fleeting glimpse of the sun on the bush are worth taking a moment to enjoy. I remember when I was in Wellington there would be special "take a look at that" moments too - rainbows and reflections on the harbour, building lights in the early evenings and storm clouds gathering over Cook Strait were my particular favourites. The difference is that now I am surrounded by awesome scenery the moments are much more frequent. I was reading on Stuff this morning that noting and appreciating the small things in life is a habit that contributes to being happy. If that is the case I am pretty sure that I have found Utopia.
In early 2012 Penny & Nairn moved from central Wellington to South Westland. Welcome to the record of their adventures.
